Satellite and Cable TV in Linz



Austria's terrestrial TV is rather limited to a few channels broadcasting only in German. There are several cable providers in Austria. However there is probably more choice for the international community via the various satellite channels.

Linz Satellite TV

 If you are from other European countries or the Middle East you may be able to receive your favourite TV channel from home via the Astra 19.2E or Hotbird satellite. Theoretically all it needs is a satellite dish and a receiver, plus some knowledge on how to align the dish to the Astra 19.2E or Hotbird and connect the cables. However many landlords and lease holders do not permit a satellite dish on the wall of the building.

TV Licensing Fee

TV Licensing fee in Austria is between 17,00 and 22 Euros per months, depending on the Austrian province. Linz TV licensing fees rank among the cheapest in the whole of Austria.

Buying a TV in Linz

Like other electrical goods it can be very expensive to purchase a TV in Linz. There is little competition when it comes to electrical goods. If you plan to relocated to may prefer to purchase your TV set outside Austria.
