Probably the most famous dish from Linz is the Linzer Torte and or the Linzer Cookie

Linzer Torte - Linzer Tart - Linzer Cookies  recipe 

Ingredients

1/4 cup butter 
2 egg yolks 
2 teaspoons vanilla extract or small amount of vanilla sugar 
1 cup all-purpose flour, 
1/2 teaspoon baking powder 
1/6 teaspoon salt 
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice 
1 1/2 cups blanched almonds 
10 ounces raspberry jam 


Beat butter in large bowl, mix in egg yolks and vanilla.
Combine flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and allspice and 
mix well and add the almonds. Slowly add to the butter 
mixture and mix well.

Chill dough for around 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Press around half of the chilled dough evenly across the 
bottom of a spring form pan.

Spread fruit jam evenly over batter, leaving 1inch border 
around edge.

Spoon remaining dough into pastry bag and pipe dough in lattice design over fruit spread.

Bake Linzer tart (Linzer Torte) Torte for tart 35 minutes, 
until crust starts to become golden brown and fruit spread 
is bubbly.

Then put on wire rack and cool.
